What it is

The City Series: London is an ongoing publishing project exploring the people, places, cultures, and contradictions that shape cities around the world. For this second edition in partnership with Battersea Power Supplies Museum and Gift Shop, photographers are invited to respond to London as an idea—experienced, observed, imagined, and interpreted through the photographic eye. The call welcomes images showing London in all its forms: iconic and overlooked, monumental and intimate, historic and contemporary. Selected submissions will be featured in a 100-image photobook.

What you get

Selected images will be featured in a 100-image photobook published by Shutter Hub Editions, available at Battersea Power Supplies Museum and Gift Shop, online, and with selected stockists. Launch event at Battersea Power Supplies in early 2027. No payment to photographers; book production is self-funded by submission fees.

What you need to apply

  • Up to 10 images in JPEG format, 300dpi, minimum 2550px (h) × 1820px (w), maximum 10MB, CMYK colour profile, portrait or landscape orientation. File names must follow format: lastname_firstname_imagetitle.jpg. Images must be suitable for a family audience., 10 required
  • Paragraph about yourself and your image(s) or project (may be used for publicity materials if selected).
  • Confirmation of whether AI has been used to create any submitted images, with detailed explanation if yes.
  • Application form requesting name, pronouns, photographer credit, email, phone, website, Instagram, previous Shutter Hub involvement, address, postcode, image titles and alt text, and acknowledgement of terms and conditions.
